Family Law

International Custody, Kidnapping, and Jurisdiction Consulting

This service is offered to lawyers and non-lawyers. Over the years, I have helped many people find children, return children to their home country, and assisted lawyers in litigating these cases. I am now offering my expertise at an incredibly reduced rate. If you are a lawyer handling a Hague Convention case, or someone who is dealing with an international child custody case and just feel confused, this consult is what you need.

This service is offered to litigants and lawyers all over the world. After you book time with me,I will follow up with a request for a bit of information and documents in advance of our call.

Divorce Coaching

This service is offered only to non-lawyers. Are you contemplating a divorce? Are you in the middle of a divorce? Are you confused by the process? Do you want to know what to expect? Do you feel that you need more guidance? Do you think you are just messing things up and need someone to talk you down occasionally? Maybe you don’t want the divorce but he/she does. This is the consult you need.

During the initial consultation I will identify what your marital problems are and some of the issues you may face in the divorce process. I will also discuss whether divorce is the right option for you. I will also assist you in making the selection for which lawyer may be the right fit based on your situation and issues.

During subsequent sessions, I will focus on a variety of topics. This may range from questions about how to structure your time and money before, during, and after the divorce. I will discuss your approach to the divorce process and how to co-parent effectively. I can also work with your divorce lawyer to help prepare you for various court events and trial if necessary.

I am not afraid to ‘yell’ at you a bit and keep you in check if you are showing signs that you are the problem.

Divorce coaching is a flexible, goal-oriented process designed to support, motivate, and guide people going through divorce to help them make the best possible decisions for their future, based on their particular interests, needs, and concerns. Divorce coaches have different professional backgrounds and are selected based on the specific needs of the clients. For example, some divorce coaches are financial planners, mental health professionals, lawyers, or mediators who have experience dealing with divorcing clients. In other words, I will work with you to find out what you need and help you accomplish your goals.

It does not matter where you are in the US. I offer these services virtually via Zoom to anyone in the US that needs this service.

Preparation of motions; legal briefs; settlement agreements; pleadings. If you don’t want to draft it, give it to me. I am available to draft the following documents:

  1. Motions (including legal briefs);
  2. ESP or Mediation Statements;
  3. Trial Briefs;
  4. Parenting Plans;
  5. MSA/PSAs;
  6. Summation Briefs;
  7. Legal research memos;
  8. Complex pleadings (third party complaints; equitable relief complaints);
  9. Hague Convention pleadings for state or federal court.

I will provide you with the word documents and exhibits organized so that the pleadings are ready to be filed. If you are specifically looking for me to do appellate work please select that option instead.

This is offered to lawyers and non-lawyers who do not want to hire counsel for court. However, this is on a very limited basis as these are often time sensitive needs. Please send me an email with what you are looking for and I can let you know if I’m available.

Appellate Briefs and Appendices

This service is offered to lawyers and non-lawyers. During this consult we will discuss the timing and cost of the preparation of all documents. All briefs and appendices are billed at a flat rate payable in advance. During this meeting I will discuss with you the services offered and the appropriate cost of the preparation of the brief and appendix. I have handled dozens of appeals over the years and have three published NJ Appellate Division cases. Since my retirement from the practice of law, I am offering my experience in drafting appellate briefs and compiling appendices at a flat fee/pre-paid rate or on an hourly basis depending on the nature of the case. After scheduling the consultation and paying the fee, please email the order or judgment to amy@madjammusiclaw.com. I will review it in advance.
